  • We raised £400m investment in 2020 from large institutions to secure our ambitious growth plans.
  • We have acquired over 500,000 wayleaves across Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Private Landlords in London to support that growth.
  • We have deployed our 100% full fibre network to over 200,000 premises to deliver the growth, which is rapidly moving towards 1 million in 2023.

Job purpose:


The Capacity field project manager is responsible for ensuring Community Fibre’s core to access build processes are robust and allow the relevant data to be captured into our Capacity manager who is responsible for allocating fibres , they will also  support the Field teams with any complex issues that arise stopping us complete prems going live.


This role will require a strong understanding of passive optical networks. They will also be involved in any new scopes of works and consult as the subject matter expert ensuring we implement the relevant requirements.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Support all field activities by designing and enforcing smooth E2E processes
  • Provide reporting/Insights into the Capacity Manager to allow them to allocate fibres effectively
  • Liaise directly with other Planning teams i.e., distribution, and build teams to align priorities and deliver capacity requirements efficiently.
  • Become proficient to highlight and escalate major design variances, and implement technical improvements where required.
  • Provide solutions for efficiencies via automation and innovation across the whole OLT lifecycle.
  • Create reports and presentations to ensure that network capacity risks and opportunities are understood at the appropriate management.
  • Flexible approach in dealing with field issues that arise impacting prems go live dates
  • Management of a field engineer who will support our build teams with issues that need complex investigation and ongoing capacity audits to ensure we can allocate any priority fibres as and when required


The experience we’re looking for you to bring:


  •  Previous experience operating a Capacity Management process
  • Previous experience working in an ISP or telco environment.
  • Highly organised with ability to drive execution.
  • Effective communicator, able to gain support and buy in from colleagues and peers, able to challenge where required.
  • Proven track record of implementing new processes and documentation.
  • GIS experience; QGIS, ArcGIS, ESRI or similar
  • Able to identify and work with key stakeholders inside and outside of the business.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy coupled with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • A total awareness and understanding of current health and safety procedures for working in the UK is essential.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and being PC literate - MS Word, Excel, Visio
  • Must have IP experience – CCNA level.
  • Multi-skilled PON engineer with >3 years’ experience of cleaning and splicing fibre, cabling and testing.
  • Familiar with the installation and basic configuration of active network equipment.
