  • We raised £400m investment in 2020 from large institutions to secure our ambitious growth plans.
  • We have acquired over 650,000 wayleaves across Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Private Landlords in London to support that growth.
  • We have deployed our 100% full fibre network to over 500,000 premises to deliver the growth, which is rapidly moving towards 2.2 million by the end of 2024.

Job purpose:


We are continuing to grow rapidly and to support the next stage of our growth we need Civils operatives to support the increase in demand in civils works within our CFIP Programme. We are looking for experienced, adaptable and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.


What you’ll be doing:


Reporting to the Civils Delivery Manager your duties are to carry out blockage repairs, small overlays and pole bend on the Openreach network, whilst maintaining exceptionally high standards to quality and attention to Health and Safety. Works will be predominantly in the London area and surrounding Boroughs, working within the Highways.

 

  • Ensure vehicle, plant, tools and equipment are maintained, in good working order and calibrated.
  • To have the ability and knowledge to read and understand instructions from A55s and utility plans on an electronic device.
  • Ensure onsite Risk Assessments are carried out for each job, each day.
  • Undertaking detailed Dig reports including various onsite photos of each activity.
  • Site setup to be carried out in accordance with NRSWA, and the red book.
  • Ensure excavations are carried out in accordance with HSG47
  • Ensure all excavations, backfill and reinstatements are in accordance with the HAUC specification.
  • Carrying out blockage repair, duct laying, core drilling to Openreach network specification.
  • Carrying out Test / Rod / Rope duct and occasionally installing cable.
  • Ensuring lines of communication are well maintained with the Civils Manager and other colleagues within the business
  • Awareness to excavation near Trees (NJUG).
  • To liaise with residents and members of the public in a professional manner.
  • To have the ability to resolve problems or suggest alternative solutions whilst on site.


The experience we’re looking for you to bring:


  • 5 Years Civils experience in Telecoms (Desirable)
  • Strong Health and Safety awareness.
  • Experience in Highways excavation, backfill and permanent reinstatements.
  • Outstanding skills in communication
  • Self-motivated to complete the task in hand
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Strong understanding of the Openreach Network (Desirable)
  • A strong fit for our brand and organisational culture.
  • Passionate about establishing a long term career in our business.
  • Strong awareness in HSG47 and NJUG
  • CSCS Card Holder (Desirable)
  • SA002 certified (Desirable)
  • NRSWA Unit 1-9 (Desirable)
  • Full Driving license
