Job purpose:
Fibre Network Design Architect – Strategic Opportunities is responsible for design work to support pursuit and then delivery of opportunities to realise more value from CFL’s FTTP network. Initially, this will primarily extend to CFL’s FTTT development. The Design Architect is expected to be a subject matter expert on all technical aspects of outside plant such as Fibre Cable, Connectivity Products, Blown Fibre etc. and associated build practices such as cabling, splicing, civils, testing etc.
You hold a deep understanding of building, commissioning and testing of the Outside/Inside plan etc. of FTTH / FTTT.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • The successful candidate will be accountable for the end to end definition of the Community Fibre FTTT passive network architecture (including core, distribution, access network), including ownership of all fibre design related topics and alignment with existing FTTH design principles.
  • You will support opportunity-development work, including bid submission and co-design with potential FTTT partners, as well as support (at least the initial) aspects of delivery. You will do the same for other value adding, but not core FTTP, opportunities.
  • You will work with CFL’s Technical Manager and Head of Network Design to develop the holistic FTTX design principles of CFL’s network.
  • You will ensure that the fibre solution deployed delivers the necessary technical and commercial requirement to allow Community Fibre to compete in the market and deliver against the customer’s requirements.
  • You will be comfortable with senior management level stakeholder management, internal and external stakeholder management and have the proven ability required to work across different stakeholder groups.
  • The Design Architect works in matrix organisation pulling in cross domain resource as required.

 

The experience we’re looking for you to bring:

  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills (written and verbal) which will be utilised in achieving desired results and are critical to the position.
  • Previous experience working on Full Fibre networks (XGSPON, GPON, Dark Fibre) is necessary.
  • Great at building strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Keen and eager to learn new things.
  • Passionate about telecommunications and technology.
  • A strong fit for our brand and organisational culture.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
